Mini Haul | MUA | Primark | Superdrug!

2 new shades with my collection behind:)
Hey guys!

So i went shopping yet again, just for a couple of things because i really don't have much money at all haha! But i did pick up a couple of items from Superdrug and Primark; which seem to be my favourite places to shop at the moment!

SUPERDRUG!

So first, from Superdrug i picked up 2 more MUA £1 nail polishes in Amaretto Crush and Pistachio Ice Cream. But my Pistachio Ice Cream one was quickly taken from me by my sister who said it would go perfectly with her dress for tomorrow! But i did have time to put it on my nails before it was sneakily stolen from me. My MUA nail polish collection is seriously growing... getting a little bit addicted. But they are such good quality for such a good price, so i can't help myself!

The Pistachio Ice Cream is my absolute FAVOURITE of the two colours i purchased, simply because it is such a cute colour. It is like a mint greenish. It is perfect for everyday wear and i highly recommend it! I also love Amaretto Crush, it has been on my list of shades to buy for a while now, and i am glad i did finally buy it because it is gorgeous! It is like a faded almost coral peachy pink red colour. That was not a very good description was it? Nope! But i love both shades and they go really well together, like i have done with the nail colours i have on right now!

Little anecdote:
I also came across a lovely elderly lady who asked me what concealer she should get, so i suggested MUA's Hide and Conceal for only £1! She then went ahead and bought that, then looked at the nail polishes because i had recommended MUA to her! She told me she was glad she ran into me, aww she was sweet! I felt proud, i should work in Superdrug!

When i bought my nail polishes i realised how silly i was with how many times i have been to Superdrug recently, and i didn't have a Beauty Card yet! So i did pick one up and got 2 points on it yay! I am very excited to build up my points! I love the fact the card is a mirror, it's so cute!

PRIMARK!

I visited Primark as i usually do, because it is just awesome. I was browsing through the tops, and i ALMOST purchased a cute collared dark green top with plastic diamantes on, but i decided not to because of the quality, you could tell the diamantes would come off straight after one wash, so i decided not to. What i DID buy was a purse. I am a very silly person, because i don't own a purse. I don't know why, but it occurred to me i tend to lose my bank card etc a lot. So to solve this problem, i bought i purse!
New purse with the floral design!

I think this purse is super super cute because of the floral pattern and all of the compartments in it for your change notes and cards. I just really loved it and thought it suited me so i bought it! It was £4, and  all of the purses in there were £4/£5 so if you're on a budget and need a purse because you're as silly as me and don't own one, go to Primark!

New purse with my new beauty card in!
So the total of my shopping trip was £6 and i am very very happy!

Hope you had/are having/are about to have a wonderful day!

Lots of love,
Sam xx

Haul | Primark + Superdrug (MUA)

I just thought i'd share a incredibly mini haul with you, i just popped to town today because i needed a top to go to the beach in tomorrow but i picked up 2 other things on my journey!

So first i went into Superdrug, as i always do and went straight to the MUA section, as i didn't have much money and i love their products! So i picked up the 'All Nude' nail polish which is a very white one, i bought it because i'm really liking all white nails at the minute and don't actually own a white nail polish (weird, i know) so i bought it, because i don't really have much to lose when they're just £1 and i already own 3 of their nail polishes, so i added another one to the collection and i might need it if i want to do a french manicure for prom next week. I'm going for the cheap option and doing my nails/hair/makeup myself!

I then went to Primark and picked up a £2.50 strapless white top for the beach tomorrow. (Apologies for the not so great picture of it, it looks like a creased square but i hope you get the idea).  I really liked it because of how simple it was and when it's sunny i won't get strap tan lines which is great! I think it would go really well with my skater skirt as a cute plain summer outfit, so i'm happy with that purchase and again, got nothing to lose as its only £2.50, bargain!

The last item i picked up this pair of navy plimsoles from Primark, which were £3. I've bought black ones of these for school before and i just think they're easy to just put on, and the colour goes with loads of outfits, and it's okay if they get ruined because they're only £3 and they look super cute! I like the white laces, it just completes an outfit. I'm thinking they would go with my beach outfit for tomorrow!

Primark don't have an online shop, you can only buy in store and i think it's only available in the UK. But have a look on eBay if you want anything i've bought, because there will be loads of dupes of it i would expect as it is very simple and plain.

You can buy the MUA nail polish in 'All Nude' HERE

Hope you had/are having/are about to have a wonderful day!
Lots of love,
- Sam xx

Review | My Nails Inc. Polish Collection!

All of my polishes from Nails Inc.
So i have never bought Nails Inc. Polish, i know many people who have and i always notice they get glowing reviews! I was lucky enough to receive a set of them for Christmas, which was exciting and i got so many different shades to try out and use everyday it's amazing!

The diversity of the shades i got was amazing, glittery, dark, light, pastel, the lot. I love all the shades! They have a lovely shine on the nail and the colours are so bright and vibrant! I can wear them for a good few days without them chipping as well, and they dry super super quickly, which is brilliant because i always get bored waiting for my nails to dry and end up ruining them by picking something up or something silly like that and i have to redo them all over again! It's a nightmare!

Nails Inc. is quite an expensive brand, which is why i have never bought anything from it. But i love love love my set that i now own, the only problem is is that they're mini bottles so they don't last me very long, but you can tell which ones are my favourites! Because they're almost gone already!

My entire collection!

The only thing i would say negatively about these products is that they don't have names, or shade numbers or any indication of what colour/shade it is! I don't know if that's just my set, but i really miss the cute names that most brands have, so i can't even re purchase them without looking super hard for the specific colours! But that is the only negative, and it doesn't affect the actual nail polish itself.

quite possibly my favourite!
Some of my favourites are the coral bright orange colour which i am wearing on my hands now. This shade makes your hands look really tanned and lovely! Perfect for summer, going to the beach and i love wearing contrasting colours with it! It's very strange but a lot of colours go with almost neon orange as I've found out. I also REALLY like the bright blue one, it's so bright and lovely! There is also a sort of beige one, which i really love and that is the one that has almost ran out. Because i don't like wearing no nail polish on my nails, and if i want a very neutral look this is my go to shade because it almost looks like it isn't there, but it achieves a classy, sleek and stylish look at the same time!
The glitter polishes in my set
My favourites out of the whole set!
(Left is the one which is on my hand above)

I have had these for a while now, so my opinion is as real as it gets. These are a brilliant quality, quick drying, fantastic coloured nail polishes that you can wear everyday and they make your nails look awesome. I love them a lot and will continue using them until they all run out, then i will probably purchase a couple of big bottles of my favourites!

Hope you had/are having/are about to have a wonderful day! I finished school today, last exam over. Which means more blog posts + SUMMER!

Lots of love

Review | Rimmel London 1000 Kisses Transferproof Lip Tint and Balm

I've become a real big fan of lipsticks and just having colour on your lips recently, because i just think it's a really cute little extra that makes you look a little bit nicer. But there is a problem with lipsticks, they come off within like a second ( more like an hour but I'm exaggerating to make a point )

Shade 320 Don't let me go
So i decided to give 1000 kisses by Rimmel a go, because it isn't a lip stick it's a lip stain, well lip 'tint' it says. It is literally like a sharpie going on your lips. I have shade 320 don't let me go. Which is a darkish pink. I must admit i was super impressed! It goes on really well, it feels a bit weird though, basically colouring in your lips with a felt tip??? Well it felt weird to me, anyway it gives a really rich bright colour and you can feel it staying like sinking in. When it's dry you apply a balm which is on it and that makes it look shiny and glossy. Now i tested this out, I tried to transfer the lip tint on to my hand, and it really really wouldn't budge! It lives up to it's high claims of being '1000 kisses'.

It's basically a felt tip!

Overall it's a decent product, it's only £6 from Superdrug, unsure of where you can get it from/ how much it is in any other country, but i really do recommend it! If you need a good bright coloured lip tint that has super good staying power then get this! It's really awesome. Perfect for any special occasions where you want to add a little bit of colour to your outfit! Really good value for money!

The balm on the bottom of the tube
You can buy Rimmel's 1000 kisses lip tint from Superdrug HERE (for some reason the shade I've shown here isn't there, but there are plenty other shades!)

Hope everyone had/is having/is about to have a fantastic day! I'm counting down the last exams to go, then summer, then college yay!

Lots of love,
Sam xx

MUA Blusher packaging comparison - Old + New

Short little post, i just wanted to express my love for the new 2013 blusher shades by MUA and the packaging!
Old packaging, interior
I have one of the old blushers, and 2 new blushers. The new one is so much more compact and sleek i absolutely LOVE it. It's easier to open and is a lot thinner than the old style. It's amazingggggg! Fits in your pocket or clutch easily. If you tried to put the old packaging in your pocket it would feel really clunky and annoying. But this one is so small and cute! I love them, it does look really expensive for such a cheap brand, only £1! Well worth it if you ask me!

Review | MUA Haul - Lipstick, Foundation, Nail Polish + More!

My little haul!

Hello!

So as you probably know, I've recently discovered MUA (Make Up Academy) Cosmetics. I bought three of their items on the 3 for 2 offer last week and i really liked how good quality they were and low price! So i got a little bit carried away when I had money on my bank card... and got quite a big haul from their website. I bought 12 items! I just got really overexcited and i needed new makeup anyway, so now my makeup bag is 95% MUA, and i love it!

So i decided to purchase some blushers, i bought a blusher with the 3 items i got last week, and i really loved it! But, just my luck, they brought out loads more shades in a different packaging the next day! It didn't have too big of an impact on me, because of their £1 price tag! So i bought 2 of their new blushers, in the shades of Marshmallow and Lolly.

Lolly(top)
Marshmallow(bottom)
Lolly (Left) Marshmallow (right)
New design packaging!

I really really really loved them both, i thought they would suit my skin tone and they really do! Marshmallow is a very bright pink and it goes on very bright, but it is easy to tone it down, you just brush a bit off until you get to the right shade of brightness! Lolly is my favourite though, i just feel so nice wearing it. Its like a orange-y coral colour and i really love it! The only problem is it doesn't stay on very long. But in its little pocket size container, it's easy to take around with you! It is one of my new favourites

I also purchased 2 more lipsticks, to add to my already purchased Shade 2. I decided to get shades 3 and 4, because i really really like pink shades for summer. I think they're really cute and go well with my Lolly Blusher!! (I had NO IDEA you could twist off the end of it and its like a little bit of the lipstick - how cool!) I did a blog post on this lipstick HERE. I really really love Shade 3, it's so bright pink! Shade 4 is used for a day where I'm not feeling the bright colours, it's more of a light pink that doesn't show up as well as the other shades, which is good because sometimes i need a neutral day!

Shade 2, 3, 4 Lipstick
Shade 3

I purchased 3 Nail Polishes; Clear, Bright Coral and Plum Noir. I loved my choices! I've tested them all out and they go on really thick and nice and they dry super fast. For a £1 that is amazinggggg. The Bright Coral one is particularly lovely, it's just so summery and cute!

Matte Foundation
I decided to buy a foundation, as i always buy really expensive foundations and they're never really any good. So i decided to test this one out. Matte Foundation in Shade 1 - Soft Sand. I really like it because of its creamy thick texture that blends in with your face covering blemishes and giving you a really nice complexion! Really good buy for just £2!

Fur effect nails
I also purchased the fluffy bobbin fur effect nail fluff. I've had my eye on this for a while, i posted a picture of it on Instagram saying i needed it! I got it! I was very excited about it because it looks so so so cool, i couldn't wait to try it out! But i think i did it wrong, as it didn't really go on too well. But it did still work it was just messy. I don't think i have the patience for it, but I'm going to try again at some point!! :D
Couldn't do them perfectly!!!

To go alongside my foundation, i bought Shade 1 Powder. Which is a lovely powder which makes you seem like you have a perfect complexion when you don't. It works with the foundation really well and i love wearing it. It was only £1! What an amazing deal! I use it with my £1 poundland brushes, it works amazingly, such a great bargain buy.

Last thing i purchased, was the 3 in 1 contour eyeliner pen. It is brilliant. It works really well and you can do all different angles with it to create all different looks. I LOVE it.

My MUA heart x
So those are ALL the purchases i made from MUA. I spent £14.45 in total, on the 3 for 2 offer with P&P. Which is amazing, considering i used to buy a foundation and mascara and it went well over that already, and this makeup will last me so long! It's great! Thank you MUA for producing such good quality makeup at such reasonable, budget prices. It really is brilliant.
Inside my mucky makeup bag!

Keep checking for more in detail posts on these products! Because there will be some :D

Buy it all at MUA or in your local Superdrug.

How to | Ombre Nails

Nail Polishes i am using. Beauty UK + Nails Inc.
Hey Guys!

So i am still really loving the ombre nails trend, and i love how pretty it looks on your nails. So i decided to do a tutorial on it, as it is deceptively easy to do! There are a few techniques to this style, but i have chosen this one as it uses less resources. I think this is an eye-catching look that you can wear everyday, and it looks really professional!!

What you need! (for this tutorial)

  • Nails (well duh)
  • 2/3 coloured Nail Polishes (I'm using 3)
  • Clear Nail Polish
  • Sponge(s)
  • Cotton Buds
  • Nail Polish Remover

Short Version:
  • Apply base coat
  • Nail Polish on sponge
  • Apply sponge to nail
  • Get rid of excess
  • Clear nail polish
If that makes no sense, then have a look at this bit:

fresh nails
For this tutorial I am using 2 Beauty UK Nail Polishes, and 1 Nails Inc. Polish.
So first you're going to want to start of with nice, fresh, nail polish free nails that have been filed(or with plain fake nails applied). Then you choose which one of your nail polishes is the lightest and paint that on to your nails and let it completely dry before continuing.

the sponge i used

Nude Coloured Base

HOW TO APPLY

The sponge, with the polishes on it
Next, you need to take your sponge and apply nail varnish next to each other on to the sponge. I chose to put the lightest one in the middle so it blends in to the different colours, but it depends for the different ombre styles you want to achieve, so it can work in any order. Once they are on the sponge, apply it to the nail. I applied the darkest colour at the bottom so it gets lighter as it goes up the nail to the tip.

You apply it by placing the bottom colour on first and then move it so it tips backwards ( i don't know if this makes sense) I also made it work by simply dabbing it on to the nail, keep doing this until you get the desired effect. Then you can move on to the next nail, just apply more polish to the sponge each time you want to do it. If the sponge doesn't feel right or if there is too much nail polish that has dried on it, just get a different one. I got a pack of 24 sponges for a pound in Poundland.
When the sponge has been applied - looks rough

Don't worry if you get polish over the nail, its almost inevitable, that's what the cotton buds and nail polish remover are for. Just dip the bud into the remover and rub the unwanted nail varnish off the side of the nails, which creates a neat, professional look.

Once you have removed the unwanted nail polish, just apply a thin coat of clear nail polish. It makes it glossy and neat, because the dabbing causes it to be rough and untidy, so this is essential for ombre nails.

Then you're done! You have cute, lovely ombre nails! Let me know how it worked out for you!
Finished!
You can use any nail polish you want to create cute blends of different graduated colours, it's perfect for any occasion!

Hope it helped! Send me pictures of the results on my email HERE. Or tag me in a photo on INSTAGRAM

Hope everyone is having/had/is about to have a good day xx

lots of love,
Sam xx

Finished!!
