Lifestyle Post | Race For Life!

So LAST weekend, the 21st of July. I ran the race for life with my friend Emma. It was an incredible experience running with soooo many people for one cause. It was simply brilliant.

I ran 5k (about 3.3 miles) in 37 minutes, which, with no training, i am super impressed. Proud of myself!
I ran the race for Emma's mum Angie, who is a cancer survivor and is a real inspiration. She is such a strong person and beat cancer completely. Her hair has grown back and she is a big inspiration to run for.

I also ran the race for Talia Castellano, who died about 2 weeks ago, she had 2 types of cancer and battled so well. She had a YouTube account and was very talented with makeup and fashion designing. Her own clothing range is being set up! Such an inspiring person.

In total we raised roughly around £100. Which i am also very proud of, in such a short time of collecting sponsors, £100 is a lot of money going to a wonderful cause.

I am definitely going to be running again next year. It is the least i can do and it is a brilliant cause! I want to raise even more money next year. Very excited!

I hope you had/are having/are about to have a wonderful day!
Lots of love,
Sam xx

Review | Barry M Hi-Shine Nail Paint

Heyyyy
I have been eyeing up the Barry M Gelly Nail Paints for agessssss, and finally decided to invest in one... just one, although it was terribly hard to choose just one. There are so many amazing colours!

I eventually picked the 'Green Berry' shade. Which is a beautiful bright mint green, like a brighter version of MUA's Pistachio Ice Cream. The actual consistency of the nail paint is so thick and amazing... but it dries super quick, and it doesn't look dry which is how shiny it actually is. Like i get scared to check if it is dry, even though it is because it just still looks no where near dry.

It looks so professional when its on your nails, like they're fake or something or you got them done at a nail salon.

I have had this polish on for 2 days and there is nothing even near to a chip yet... but i'll update this if any occur.

I am 100% going to purchase more of these. Sprinkle of Glitter raved about the Prickly Pear one, which features in her giveaway... sounds exciting!

Totally recommend these! Love them!
You can buy them from Superdrug for £3.99 HERE
I hope you had/are having/are about to have a wonderful day!
Lots of love,
Sam xx

Review *DUPE ALERT* | BeautyBlender eBay dupe

Hi again!
So I always use sponges for my makeup. And I feel like I'm wasting them. Because if I bin them it feels like a waste but if I keep them for too long I don't like using them on my face. It feels like putting dirt in my face. Regular sponges also seem to waste makeup as it is absorbed by the sponge.

This is where I came across the Beauty Blender. I've seen many bloggers rave about this all the time. And I thought It was a pretty cool idea that you wet it so it doesn't waste your makeup and it goes on smoother. And it's easier to wash.

Beauty Blender DUPE
But i thought a Beauty Blender was a little bit too far out of my budget... for a sponge... So i decided to have a little hunt on the internet for a dupe, which i found!

I ordered it from Hong Kong, and it took about a month to get to me... so i got very excited when it arrived. It was smaller than i would have expected but it looked a lot better than a sponge even before i had used it! It just seemed more substantial to hold.

So you're supposed to immerse it in water and keep squeezing it until its full of water... then squeeze all the water out so it is damp... then put your foundation on your hand and stipple it onto your face.

This was so easy to do, and it just seemed to go on smoother with no lines on my face at all. I also used it for my powder, blusher and bronzer. It is just amazing! I am a big fan of both of the ends, the pointy end to get into the hard to reach places and the bottom for the rest of your face. It is an amazing sponge and i can apply almost all of my face makeup with it... absolutely brilliant!
Perspective

Apparently the sponge is supposed to get bigger when its wet, but i don't see a noticeable difference. Maybe this only happens with the original BeautyBlender
I highly recommend you try this out, as it's only 99p off eBay. It won't arrive for a while, but when it does you'll get excited and want to use it straight away, i did it! But had to wait a day to use it because i'd already done my makeup.

OOTD | Summer Look

Hello!
I'm not doing much today... but i got dressed anyway and i really like the outfit i am wearing so i thought i would share!

I love collared shirts... and i have for so long! So when i  bought this shirt for £1 (see haul post HERE) i was made up, i got the denim skirt for free because my auntie had a clear out (lucky me) and i just LOVE it! I love all the buttons on it, i was so close to buying one from Primark the other day too. So happy i didn't because this one is so lovely and has a little bit of individuality to it.

I think this look can be dressed up and dressed down. It is probably best for like a daytime meal out somewhere or just going shopping. It's just a cute outfit which i love. Apologies for the photo quality. Had to use front camera on my iPhone so i could see.

I haven't done a makeup look for this outfit. But you can use the makeup look from this OOTD HERE. I chose not to wear makeup today, as i'm not really going anywhere.

Back of outfit... shirt sleeve buttons aren't done... oops

Denim Buttoned skirt.
I hope you had/are having/are about to have a wonderful day!
Lots of love,
Sam xx

Fashion Haul | Primark

Hello!

So I thought i'd have a quick look around Primark for some clothes, as i realised i am running out of clothes that i actually wear!

First i bought this creamy pinkish top which is gorgeous. It was supposed to be £12 but i got it for just £1 - Should call me the bargain hunter. I just think it's really cute and would be nice to wear with a denim skirt or out for a meal with leggings and a blazer. It's just a top you can dress up or dress down. I love the metal on the colour. It is so cute!

I also picked up this Coca Cola crop top. I decided to get a Size 12 even though i'm an 8/10 because i didn't want it to be too short of a crop top and wanted it to be quite baggy on me. I absolutely love this. I think it would go with Disco Pants or just a plain pair of leggings and vans or something. Really cute for a day out. This top was just £6.

Lastly i picked something up for my almost 2 year old sister Tilly. I found these really really super cute blue polka dot jeans which are just adorable! I can't wait to give her them she's going to look so cute!! These were also a bargain on sale for just £2

Thats all i bought today(: I've got 2 more blog posts lined up which are reviews, which i will get around to doing i promise!

Unfortunately Primark doesn't have an online site which you can shop on. I might've just been really lucky with the bargains i purchased, or they might still be available in a Primark near you, not sure sorry! Just thought i would share.

I hope you had/are having/are about to have a wonderful day!
Lots of love,
Sam xx

DIY | Ombré Your Hair -Helpful Tips

Hi! So yesterday, i made a change to my hair, which hasn't happened for quite a while now... i used to colour my hair like every day... it got a bit out of hand. But i haven't really changed it for a couple of years now, so i thought it was time to have a bit of a change, so i ombre'd my hair!
SOURCE

I didn't know how to go about it... so i read up on dyes and things and techniques on how to do it, until i felt i was prepared enough to go out and buy the bleach. Stupidly i didn't take a picture of the box myself. But it's up there ^^^
BEFORE
AFTER
It is Jerome Russel's BBlonde Maximum Lift bleach. I've used this brand before, and it has worked the best and took to my hair the best in the past. So i decided to go for it. I got my sister to help me, because you can't see the back of your hair and don't want a weird uneven bit at the back... so to be on the safe side she helped me... and she did a great job! I absolutely love my ombré hair... I'm going to keep this for a long time. When my hair gets longer I'll just go a bit further up.
Dying process... with an appearance of my #1 fan.

HELPFUL TIPS FOR OMBRE'ING HAIR

  • Backcomb different sections so they are at different lengths when you ombre your hair
  • Definitely use a dying brush... so it doesn't turn out patchy
  • use BLEACH
  • Make sure you get a gradient, don't dye the top of the section you want to dye until 10-15 ish minutes have passed... so it is definitely darker than the rest.
  • Start dying the bottom and work your way up further
  • Get someone to help you (It still counts as DIY!!!!)

Back of my head, can see the gradient here

Ombre'ing my hair was an amazinggggg decision. I absolutely love the change I've made and i just think it makes me look more interesting. So if you're debating whether to do it or not. Just do it!

I have done a YouTube video on this! Check it out HERE or watch it below!

The bleach i used was £5.99 from Superdrug. You can purchase it HERE (although check if they have it for cheaper if you have and Home Bargain near you... they do cheap hair dye)
See if the product is for you hair colour wise HERE

I hope you had/are having/are about to have a wonderful day!
Lots of love,
Sam xx

Review | L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution

3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution
Hello!
I've decided to share a repurchase i made with you, as it is the one thing i rely on. So i thought it was time to make a review about it.

I had heard a lot about Micellar solutions, but every product i had come across that was a Micellar solution was very expensive. Like Zoella raved about the Taaj Micellar Water, but it was around £16. I was not willing to pay this much for something i hadn't tried out yet. But this L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection solution was much more affordable, so i decided to try that out.

Instructions
Firstly, i completely and utterly recommend this product. It is the only thing i use on my face for my skin care. Since i have been using it my blemishes are going and so are my blackheads and any spots i have. This product has 3 claims:

1. Dissolves make-up
2. Unclogs pores and removes impurities
3. Tones and soothes skin

This is the perfect product for me, because you don't need to rub at your face and it isn't a harsh scrub. All you do is sweep away the makeup on your face and it leaves your face feeling nice and refreshed, and it is suitable for sensitive skin. Ah-may-zing. It just feels like cleaning your face with water, but it is really cleansing your face.

It captures and withdraws the excess oil and impurities rather than dragging them around your face like face wipes do. I never realised that face wipes were bad for you and didn't really do you any good whatsoever. But now i realise that investing in a cleanser like this makes you feel better and more refreshed. You just apply it to a cotton pad onto your skin when you want to take your make-up off and it works. It just goes, every last bit. You don't need to rub your eyes to get it off.

I am so impressed with this product, and i will keep on repurchasing. It is suitable for all types of skin so i suggest you get your hands on it!

I purchased mine from Superdrug for £3.32

You can get the same offer i got online by purchasing it HERE

I hope you had/are having/are about to have a wonderful day!
Lots of love,
Sam xx

OOTD | Spring/Summer Day Out Look

The Weather for this Outfit!

Hello!

So I'm going to share my outfit of the day! I liked what i was wearing on my face and my outfit(: It's a breezy summery look. I decided not to opt for shorts today as i was going to the cinema, but i wore my crop top so i wasn't over heating! I'll share my makeup with you first. It is a very budget look, all the beauty products i have used come from a drugstore, so everything is relatively cheap.

I will list all the items prices and links to buy them at the end.

MUA Matte Perfect Foundation

MAKEUP

Although it is summer, i am not having very good skin days. So i still use full makeup. I used MUA's Matte Perfect Foundation in 'Natural' and applied it all over my face. I then put MUA's Hide and Conceal on blemishes and under my eyes to make me seem more awake. I then applied their Shade 1 Powder by MUA all over my face to stop it from being shiny.

Over this, i brushed on Rimmel London's Natural Bronzer in shade 022 Sun Bronze in places that needed contouring, mostly underneath my cheek bone to make my face look more defined. I then brushed on MUA's New Blusher in shade 'Lolly' to add a summery glow. I then moved on to my eyes.

NYC Metro Quartet

i wanted to go for a natural look today, so i went with very subtle eye makeup. I used NYC's Metro Quartet Eyeshadow in 815A - The Best of Broadway. I used all of the colours except for black. Applying the darker shades to the outer lid and the crease, and the lighter shades in the corner and underneath, to make my eyes seem brighter and more awake and summery. I also used the dark brown on my eyebrows to give them more shape.

MUA Blusher in Lolly

I then used MUA's 3-in-1 contour pen  in the darkest shade as my eyeliner, i used thin eyeliner as i still want the look to be quite natural but with some definition.

i used Miss Sporty Fabulous Lash Building Mascara in XtraBlack  on my lashes which makes them stand out more. REVIEW HERE
Miss Sporty Mascara

To finish off my look, i used MUA's Lipstick in Shade 1 which is a deep red, which goes really well with the rest of my makeup. I have featured this lipstick in my a blog post HERE

Eye Makeup Completed

FASHION

Full completed look!
I wanted to wear quite plain, light clothes, and as it is summer i opted for a white crop top. Which i got from Primark for £5, BARGAIN! I teamed it up with jeggings, because i thought i would be too cold in shorts and they go really well for my simple look. I thought my Toms would go perfect with this outfit as they are almost the exact same shade as my jeggings, they are super comfy and they are very summery!
My Beautiful Toms that i love x
My Jeggings:)

Beauty UK Nail Polish!
I topped the look off with my pink nail varnish from Beauty UK in Shade 35 ( which for some reason has disappeared off the internet ) But it's a cute summery pink. I picked it because i'm doing the race for life on Sunday!

Overall i think my look was appropriate for a day like today, i was never too hot or too cold. So if the weather matches what my weather says, wear something like this! It's a really cute and simple look for everyday wear in spring/summer/any warmish day.

Prom | Accessories Haul

Hellooo!
My prom was last week, and i absolutely loved it! So i thought i would share all the accessories i bought for it as it's very exciting! My dress is an ombre turquoise colour which fades to white near the bottom. So i decided to look for silver accessories, as i thought it would go very well!

I bought the shoes first, so it would be easier to find a clutch and jewellery. I bought them from Deichmann. They are so cute, i didn't want open toed ones at first but i thought it wouldn't be so bad when i found these as there are still fairly closed. They are so cute i love the glitter, it's amazing! The heel is quite high and I'm very tall, but it ended up okay, everyone took their shoes off halfway through the night anyway. They were only £15

I then went on to buy my clutch bag. Which was an incredibly quick find. I couldn't find a silver clutch as i was walking around looking for my shoes, so i decided to go for blue. It is darker than my dress but it works wonderfully and has a lovely silver diamante flower on it, which is beautiful! It was only £10 from a little stall in my local shopping centre.

Now i knew i was definitely having silver, i went into Claire's and looked at their jewellery, i know they are expensive for what they are but they did look nice. I knew i wanted something small, nothing chunky. I like delicate jewellery. I picked up the necklace first, which i thought was perfect and looked like it would hang well, which it did. Then i found matching earrings, and a bracelet which would go well with it! I found out when i got to the till the bracelet was reduced from £7 to £2.50! Which was a bonus. The necklace was £15 and the earrings were £7. Slightly more than i would have paid, but it's for prom!

The Earrings
The Bracelet
The Necklace

On my nails i am wearing Rimmels Lasting Finish in 239 Your Majesty, REVIEW HERE i love this shade and it is silver and goes perfectly with my accessories. I did my makeup myself, as i enjoy doing it myself. So i went for a silver/turquoise theme to go with the rest of my look.

See my prom picture post HERE
Full outfit - with clutch

I hope you had/are having/are about to have a wonderful day!
Lots of love,
